EV Charger Installs
DC Fast Charging
Bay Area Wide
Ranger Electric has installed a wide range of EV charging systems across the Bay Area — from garage Level 2 stations to commercial DC fast charging infrastructure. We handle the full electrical scope, not just mounting a box on the wall.
Dedicated 240V circuits (typically 40–60A) for NEMA 14-50 outlets or hardwired wall connectors. We assess your main panel, run conduit, pull permits, and coordinate inspection — so your install is safe, insurable, and rebate-eligible where programs apply.
Workplace chargers, HOA garages, retail parking, and fleet depots. Load calculations across multiple ports, ADA-compliant layouts, metering options, and utility coordination for sites that need more than a single circuit.
High-power DCFC infrastructure for sites that need rapid turnaround — convenience stores, fleets, and public charging hubs. Service upgrades, switchgear, trenching, and the heavy electrical backbone your fast chargers depend on.
Bay Area homeowners and businesses run different hardware — we work with the major ecosystems and match the electrical design to your vehicle, utility, and site constraints.
Wall connectors & Level 2: Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint Home Flex, JuiceBox, ClipperCreek, Grizzl-E, Wallbox Pulsar Plus
Commercial L2: ChargePoint CT4000, Enel X JuiceBox Pro, Blink, Siemens VersiCharge
DC fast (site-dependent): ChargePoint Express, ABB Terra, BTC Power, Tritium — coordinated with your equipment vendor
Outlets & adapters: NEMA 14-50, 6-50, hardwired J1772 / NACS-ready circuits per manufacturer spec
Not sure what you need? Here's how Ranger Electric thinks about the technology — so you get the right circuit, not just the cheapest quote.
L1
Standard outlet, ~3–5 miles of range per hour. Fine for plug-in hybrids or overnight top-ups. We rarely recommend L1–only for full BEV households in the Bay Area.
L2
25–48+ miles per hour depending on amperage and vehicle. Our most common residential install: 40A or 48A circuit, #6 AWG copper, GFCI protection per current NEC, outdoor-rated enclosures where needed.
DCFC
50 kW to 350+ kW for commercial sites. Requires substantial service capacity, utility service requests, and often trenching or switchgear — Ranger Electric's specialty for businesses scaling EV access.
1. Site survey
Panel label photos, load calc, charger location, conduit path, distance to panel.
2. Engineering
Circuit sizing, voltage drop check, disconnect placement, AFCI/GFCI per 2023 NEC as adopted locally.
3. Permit & install
Trench/conduit, THWN-2 or MC cable, breaker, EVSE mount, commissioning & homeowner walkthrough.
4. Inspection
Final with city/county inspector; as-built documentation for your records and rebate applications.
EV is a major focus — but Ranger Electric has delivered Bay Area contracting services since 2000, built on quality, fair pricing, and service you can count on.
Rough-in and finish electrical for renovations, additions, and tenant improvements — coordinated with your GC or design team.
Main panel replacements, sub-panels, meter mains, and capacity increases to support modern loads — EV, solar prep, heat pumps, and more.
LED retrofits, occupancy sensors, dimming, and commercial lighting layouts that meet Title 24 energy requirements.
PV interconnects, consumption monitoring, backup panel configurations, and load-side connections for battery storage systems.
Structured cabling, access control prep, and dedicated circuits for equipment rooms — clean, labeled, inspection-ready.
The three principles Ranger Electric was founded on — still the standard on every job from small service calls to complex commercial builds.
Since 2000, we've grown with the Bay Area — from traditional construction electrical to the electrification projects defining the next decade.
California requires licensed electricians for EV circuits — we pull permits, pass inspections, and leave documentation you can stand behind.
We go above and beyond so you keep coming back — clear communication, realistic timelines, and work that respects your property.
