Residential Level 2

Dedicated 240V circuits (typically 40–60A) for NEMA 14-50 outlets or hardwired wall connectors. We assess your main panel, run conduit, pull permits, and coordinate inspection — so your install is safe, insurable, and rebate-eligible where programs apply.

Commercial & Multi-Family

Workplace chargers, HOA garages, retail parking, and fleet depots. Load calculations across multiple ports, ADA-compliant layouts, metering options, and utility coordination for sites that need more than a single circuit.

DC Fast Charging

CHARGING LEVELS EXPLAINED

L1

Level 1 — 120V

Standard outlet, ~3–5 miles of range per hour. Fine for plug-in hybrids or overnight top-ups. We rarely recommend L1–only for full BEV households in the Bay Area.

L2

Level 2 — 240V ★ Sweet Spot

25–48+ miles per hour depending on amperage and vehicle. Our most common residential install: 40A or 48A circuit, #6 AWG copper, GFCI protection per current NEC, outdoor-rated enclosures where needed.

DCFC

Level 3 — DC Fast

50 kW to 350+ kW for commercial sites. Requires substantial service capacity, utility service requests, and often trenching or switchgear — Ranger Electric's specialty for businesses scaling EV access.

Typical Residential Install Scope

1. Site survey

Panel label photos, load calc, charger location, conduit path, distance to panel.

2. Engineering

Circuit sizing, voltage drop check, disconnect placement, AFCI/GFCI per 2023 NEC as adopted locally.

3. Permit & install

Trench/conduit, THWN-2 or MC cable, breaker, EVSE mount, commissioning & homeowner walkthrough.

4. Inspection

Final with city/county inspector; as-built documentation for your records and rebate applications.
